What changed: integrations and entity papers

BeforeMay now connects to Xero, QuickBooks, your drives, Outlook and LodgeiT, and company and trust workpapers are nearly ready.

  • Product update
The Xero, QuickBooks Online, Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint and Excel marks in a row on BeforeMay navy.

The books are in Xero, the documents are in someone's OneDrive, and the return goes out through LodgeiT. BeforeMay now connects to all of them, and company and trust workpapers are close.

Connect once, use it everywhere

Connect an account once under Settings → Integrations and every BeforeMay product uses it. Xero, QuickBooks Online, Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint and Outlook are live, and Return Fill fills a draft return in LodgeiT or Xero Tax from the finished workpaper.

The Xero and QuickBooks Online cards on the BeforeMay Integrations page, both marked Live.
The Integrations page, as it is today.

What each one does:

  • Xero reads the trial balance and reports, and sends adjusting journals back as drafts for you to approve.
  • QuickBooks Online reads a company's trial balance into a case. Nothing is written back.
  • Drive, OneDrive and SharePoint import a file or a whole folder straight into a case.
  • Outlook sends from your own address and files a client's emails, attachments included.
  • Return Fill checks the client and year match, fills the draft, and leaves the lodging to you.

MYOB, XPM, FYI and the ATO pre-fill are next. The full list is at beforemay.com.au/integrations.

Company and trust workpapers

They are about 90% done, and we aim to open them at the end of October or early November. If you would like to be among the first practices to use them, reply to this email and we will turn them on for you first.

A progress card for company and trust workpapers at 90%: trial balance from Xero, tax reconciliation, distribution and dividend schedules, and review points ready; final checks with early practices in progress.
Where company and trust papers are up to.

On a company or trust kept in Xero, the case opens on the trial balance and the paper is built from it: tax reconciliation, distribution or dividend schedules, and review points, in the same format as the individual paper.
